The bulk upload feature allows you to upload all your ledger accounts with opening & closing balances quickly. Also, if the uploaded account does not already exist in the system, we will automatically create a new ledger account for the same.

To upload accounts in Bulk, go to Advanced Accounting > Chart of Accounts > Upload CSV:

You will see a form like below open up:

First, download the sample file format. It will look like this:

Remove the sample values and add all the accounts with account group type, currency, and opening balances.

While adding data in the "account_category" column, please keep in mind that the system will only accept the category name in a set format.

For example, if the category is "Bank Accounts", write it as "bankAccounts". Check out the list for other categories here:

Also, please ensure that you use proper currency codes for opening balance currency column. A detailed list of all the currency codes is given at the end of the article.

Once you are done adding the data in the sample CSV file, just click on "Upload File" to proceed with the upload.

In case your uploaded file contains invalid data, the system will show you an error report. Download it to see what errors are there in your CSV file. Re-upload the file after rectifying the errors. Feel free to contact our support team if you require any help. 

That's it! your bulk upload is done. Do keep in mind that the upload will take several minutes to reflect in the system. So unless you receive an error message while uploading, do not re-upload the CSV file again. 

After a few minutes, you will be able to view the uploaded accounts. You will also receive a confirmation email once this process is complete.
