If you are no longer using a particular bank, employee, or any other payment account, you should mark that account as inactive to avoid mistakenly recording payments in that account.

Before marking a payments account inactive, do note that -

If you mark a bank/employee account (parent account) as inactive, other payment accounts linked with all that payment account will also become inactive.

For example, three payment accounts HDFC Bank Current Account, HDFC Bank Credit Card Account, and HDFC Bank UPI account are linked to the bank account called "HDFC Bank".

Now, if you mark the "HDFC Bank" account as inactive, all three accounts linked with them will also become inactive.

Similarly, if an employee account is marked inactive, other payment accounts linked to that employee account (i.e. employee credit card account, employee salary account, etc.) will also become inactive.

Restoring Inactive Payment Accounts

Restoring inactive payment accounts is also easy.

Just go to the "Inactive Accounts" tab on the payment accounts dashboard, and click "Restore Account" to make the account active again.

While restoring payments accounts, do note that -

If you restore a bank/employee account (parent account), it will not automatically restore other payment accounts linked with them. You will need to manually restore all the payment accounts linked to a bank/employee account (parent account).

For example, if I restore my "HDFC Bank" account, it will not automatically restore other payment accounts that are linked to the "HDFC Bank" account (i.e.HDFC Bank Current Account, HDFC Bank Credit Card Account, and HDFC Bank UPI account).

You will need to go to Payment Accounts > Inactive Accounts to restore each payment account linked to that bank account.
