Different businesses have different ways of measuring quantities - A company selling clothing materials might measure their products in meters, while a business selling beverages might measure quantity in liters, and so on.

Whether you’re selling items by meter, liter, piece, kilogram, or any other unit, Refrens helps you easily create documents with the appropriate units of measurement.

Let’s see how!

Adding Units In Documents

While adding a line item in your invoice or any other document, click on the “Add Unit” option:

You will see a dropdown option where you can select from different units as shown below:

Different Ways To Show Units In Documents

There are two ways you can show the units in the documents:

A) In the quantity column

B) In the item name column

You can choose how you want to show these units while creating documents only. At the bottom of the document creation page, you will see the option called “Display Unit As”. Just select your preferred way of displaying the unit and you are good to go! ?

Editing Existing Units

You can also edit the existing units if needed.

For example, the unit code “BUNDLES’ is “BDL”. But let’s say you want to keep it as “BND”.

To do this, just go to the “Add Units” dropdown > Click on “Add Unit” > go to the unit you want to edit > Make edits as shown below:

Adding New Units

If you don’t find the units you need in the system, you can also add new ones.

For example, let’s say you want to add a new unit called “INCHES”.

To do this, just go to the “Add Units” dropdown > Click on “Add Unit” > Click on “Add New Unit” > Add the unit name along with the 3-digit unit code as shown below:

(Note: If you are an Indian business using the E-invoicing or E-way bill feature, note that the custom units created by you will be passed to your E-invoice or E-way Bill as “OTH” (Other) only)
