If you want your domain to be redirected to your Refrens Business Profile, you need to set up a CNAME record (Which just takes a few seconds!). 

Follow the steps below to ensure everything works smoothly:

  1. Log in to Your Domain Registrar

    Access your domain registrar’s control panel where you manage your domain settings. This could be GoDaddy, Namecheap, or any other service where your domain is hosted.

  2. Locate DNS Settings

    Look for the DNS Management or DNS Settings section, which allows you to modify DNS records such as A, CNAME, or MX records.

  3. Add a CNAME Record for ‘www’

    • In the DNS settings, add a CNAME record for your domain.
    • Set the Name/Host to "www".
    • In the Value/Points to field, enter "profile.refrens.com".
    • Save the changes.

      This step ensures that www.yourdomain.com (for example, www.mybusiness.com) will be redirected to your Refrens Business Profile.

  4. Redirect Non-WWW Version (Optional)

    If you also want the root domain (like mybusiness.com, without the “www”) to redirect to your Refrens Business Profile, you need to set this up:

    • Check if your domain registrar allows CNAME records for root domains. If it does:
      • Set the Name/Host to "@" (which represents your root domain).
      • In the Value/Points to field, enter "profile.refrens.com".

    • If your registrar does not allow this (many don’t), you may need to set up a 301 Redirect through the domain’s control panel to ensure the root domain redirects to the "www" version (i.e., mybusiness.com redirects to www.mybusiness.com).

  5. Choose Your Default Domain

    Decide whether you want www.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com to be your default domain:

    • If you want www.yourdomain.com to be the default, ensure you set up the CNAME for "www" and redirect the root domain (yourdomain.com) to it.
    • If you want yourdomain.com to be the default, set up the CNAME for the root domain and redirect www.yourdomain.com to it.

      Important Note: We recommend setting up the CNAME record for both the root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) and the "www" version (e.g., www.yourdomain.com). Once both are set up, simply let us know which one you would prefer as the default. The selected domain will become your default, and the other will automatically redirect to it for a seamless experience.

  6. Reach Out to Refrens to Complete the Redirection

    Once the CNAME is set up, reach out to us to finalize the redirection from our end. You can either drop an email at care@refrens.com OR message us on chat support. Our team will then complete the redirection process for you.

    Once done, your domain will automatically get redirected to your Refrens Business Profile.
